The safety of our students remains our highest priority and, as such, we have comprehensive procedures in place to ensure we adhere to all Ministry of Education (MoE) guidelines. We respectfully request that you read the following carefully as it contains very important information.

Catering

We are committed to provide healthy meal options at school within the conditions that meet the Ministry of Education (MoE) guidelines and maintain social distancing requirements.

Work Place Areas

  • Our kitchen meets all health and safety requirements including clear ‘zones’ to separate food delivery, storage, preparation and serving.

  • There are clear separate areas for cooked food and raw food.

  • All kitchen and serving areas are cleaned and sanitised daily during operations and also after the kitchen has closed.

  • The kitchen uses modern equipment including a specialised commercial dishwasher that cleans with a hot water temperature of XX °C.


Food Handling & Preparation

  • All staff undergo health checks daily before they enter the school. If anyone has a temperature higher than 37.5 °C or shows any of the symptoms of Covid-19 they will not be allowed to enter the school.

  • Catering staff will wear gloves and face masks at all times and a face shield whilst serving food.

  • All staff must wash their hands in strict accordance with the school’s food safety policy. Hand sanitisation gel is readily available.

  • All food is freshly cooked (especially meat). The temperature for hot food holding is monitored on a regular basis as required and is not to be below 57 °C.


Food Serving

  • A maximum of 5 students are allowed in the food serving area at one time.

  • Social distance of 1 meter to be maintained by all in the serving area.

  • Food will be served by catering staff (not self-service as before).

  • Utensils (knife, fork and spoon etc.) will be pre-wrapped in individual napkins and given to each student (no sharing). Students can also bring their own utensils from home.

  • Students can only drink from their own water bottles. Chilled water is available throughout the school.
